What is Christ Renews His Parish?
Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP) is an experiment in Christian living, designed to bring members of our parish together to experience Christ in a new and unique way. CRHP is an effective, spiritual renewal process which calls together the members of the parish...priests, religious and laity...in order to experience personal conversion and Christian community in the environment of our own parish. The weekend stresses a clear focus on Christ alive in Scriptures, the Good News of Jesus Christ.

It is not a silent retreat
It is not a parish organization
It is not a public confession
It s not a pre-selected group
It is not a parish clique

Who Puts On The Weekend?
A CRHP team consists of a spiritual director and people who have previously attended a CRHP weekend. The team lovingly and prayerfully prepares many weeks in advance, to provide this two day, one overnight live-in experience for all who attend. Although many participants go on to become members of the next team, the weekend can be a renewal experience with no further commitments.

What Happens On The Weekend?

Come prepared to have fun and renew your heart, while at the same time, learn about and become closer to fellow parishioners. The process centers around reflections by team members with emphasis on small group discussions and activities. It is an opportunity to hear and discuss how Catholics function in our complex, fast-paced society. The CRHP weekend allows an opportunity for individual spiritual growth through prayer and personal reflection. You will be able to share as much, or as little, as you are comfortable with. The team is always respectful of your needs.  The sacrament of the Holy Eucharist is celebrated on Saturday and Sunday, and anyone who desires to participate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation will have the opportunity to do so on Saturday  evening. You will be well-fed, not only spiritually but physically, since all your meals will be provided by the CRHP community. Regular breaks for snacks and beverages are provided, and if you have any special dietary needs, those will also be provided. Sleeping accommodations are provided in the parish facilities. You should bring  a sleeping bag, pillow, or other bedding , a towel, soap and any other personal items you may need.  Dress code for both days is casual and comfortable.

Where and When Do The Weekends Take Place?

The weekends will take place in the confines of the parish facilities, usually one women’s weekend and one men’s weekend each Fall and Spring.  The weekend begins at 7:30am on Saturday and ends at approximately 4:00pm on Sunday. What Is the Cost? Although there is no set cost for the weekend to the participants, there will be an opportunity on the weekend for a free will offering.

Who May Attend a Weekend and How is One Invited?

The weekend is open to anyone beyond high school age who is a member of the St. Joseph Parish. You may be invited through announcements in the bulletin, through a pulpit talk at Mass, or by someone in the parish who may ask you to consider a weekend.

If you have a desire to grow spiritually, become closer to your faith, or gain a deeper sense of community within the parish, the Holy Spirit is already extending an invitation to you!
